Kids Night Out

Youth ages six to 13 are invited to join Symbolic Art in a fun-filled night of group games, arts and crafts projects and pizza.  This is a great opportunity for parents to get a couple of hours away while the kids are engaged in a safe, interactive environment.

Summerlin Paint Nights

Join in the fun at Summerlin Paint Nights in which each month will feature a different themed painting. Make your masterpiece with a professional artist and art teacher, Veronica Egidio from Art Attack Vegas, who will guide you through the steps in less than two hours.  All supplies are provided and each student will go home with their own creation.

Acting & Performance

Comedy Fu Acting and Improv with Move Performing Arts

Want to make people laugh? Talk your way out of any situation? Become the star of Saturday Night Live? Well here is your chance! Comedy Fu is a class like no other where students learn “improv” (improvisational comedy) through games and team building exercises.

Ages: 7 – 15 years old

Sketch comedy acting also will be introduced including scene work. Children will benefit from improved self-confidence, communication skills, quick thinking, problem solving, social and language skills and self-expression. A showcase for friends and family will be held on May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Vistas Community Center to highlight what was learned in class. (Dress rehearsal is May 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vistas.)

Broadway Review Singing with Move Performing Arts

Come sing, dance and act in this fun, interactive Broadway class. The class will focus on creating a 15 minute montage of musical theater favorite songs that will be presented at the Move Spring Showcase in May. As students explore the worlds of acting and musical theatre, they will grow from the world of play to applying more advanced, specialized training.

Ages: 7 and older

All classes, regardless of age, foster personal growth, teamwork and creativity. It is suggested to take all sessions to be a part of the showcase. A showcase for friends and family will be held on May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Vistas Community Center to highlight what was learned in class. (Dress rehearsal is May 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vistas.)

“The Hamiltunes” Review!
Presented by Comedy Fu Children’s Theater Company with Move Performing Arts

Be a part of Move Performing Arts very own “Comedy Fu Children’s Theater Company.” The company provides a professional training program for young people that have a love for the stage.  This season, the company will rehearse and perform a review of the best-loved Hamilton songs from the smash hit Broadway play.

Ages: 7 to 16 years old

Even if you have never acted before, this theater company is for you. Everyone gets a part and works on each individual’s abilities on stage. Serving as a company member requires all participants to make a serious commitment to rehearsals and shows.  The company consists of 20 actors who are ready to take the stage! A $50 production fee will be collected by The Summerlin Council in May. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on February 1 from 12 to 12:30pm.

Beam for Kids Level II – Business and the Stock Market

BEAM for Kids is an after school program designed to give kids a fun introduction to finance.  In Level II, kids will learn about business and the stock market while investing BEAM Bucks in mock business and stock market challenges.

Drawing and Painting for Kids

This class allows artists of all abilities to pick a subject of their choice (florals, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, etc.) and create a piece of artwork with personal attention from the instructor who has more than 25 years teaching experience.

Ages: 10 and older

Students will be taught the basics of composition, color selection and mixing and rendering techniques, as well as proportion and perspective. This class is limited in size to ensure that each student receives the instruction and attention they need to create their masterpiece! Students must provide their own paints, brushes and canvas. A complete list of supplies will be given to you upon registration.

Group Guitar Lessons – New

These classes are geared for all ages from beginners to advanced who want to learn the basics and expand their knowledge of music and theory.  The beginner classes will focus on the basics of reading and understanding music as it pertains to guitar and will cover a variety of genres.  The intermediate/advanced classes will focus on chord building, breaking down scales and chord progressions.  A basic knowledge of reading sheet music is expected for the intermediate/advanced class.

Master the Walk

Is your dog endlessly distracted, impulsively reactive or relentlessly pulling when you walk outside? Are you constantly working to control and redirect your dog, or simply avoiding every stimulus possible? Then it’s time to Master the Walk!

This group walk experience will include access to a wide variety of equipment choices, training techniques, games and other skills that will transform your daily routine into the ultimate outdoor experience for you and your dog. Each one-hour Master the Walk experience will begin in front of the Trails Community Center building. We will warm up, check and adjust equipment and then master the walk.
