Pre-Ballet

Pre-ballet students will begin learning the structured basics of classical ballet. This class introduces students to proper placement, posture, ballet vocabulary and beginning technique while still engaging students with surprise props and themes. This method promotes creativity, developing coordination, balance and core strength. Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers.

Fairytale Ballet

In this fun class, a magical make-believe component and theme will engage students by tapping into their creativity and stimulating their imagination. Children will explore dance through the use of props such as wands, tutus, tiaras, crowns and capes.

Ages: 3 to 5 years old

Enchanting stories and fairy tales are used to inspire and encourage a love for dance. Students are guided age-appropriately through consistent structure and outlines to learn elementary ballet vocabulary and French ballet terms. Lessons will strengthen coordination, develop poise, balance and flexibility, and encourage a relationship to music. Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Themed costumes and props are included in the registration fee.

Mommy and Me Ballet

Mommies and their baby ballerinas will whirl, twirl and explore ballet with tutus, tiaras, sparkling wands, imagery, musical instruments and props.  This class teaches basic toddler ballet by engaging and inspiring little dancers’ imaginations and creativity with magical themed fairy tales, stories and props.

Ages: 18 to 36 months

The class focus is on movement, coordination, balance, rhythm and stretching. Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Themed costumes and props are included in the registration fee.

Beginning Hip Hip with Move Performing Arts

Hip Hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking. Find your inner funk by taking these classes that will encourage students to step outside of the box and bring their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Ages: 5 to 10 years old

Hip Hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves so class will include upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements. A showcase for friends and family will be held on May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Vistas Community Center to highlight what was learned in class. (Dress rehearsal is May 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vistas.)

Jazz with Move Performing Arts

This class focuses on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well-rounded dancer.

Ages: 7 – 12 years old

Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students’ progress through each level, curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate. A showcase for friends and family will be held on May 16 at 11 a.m. at the Vistas Community Center to highlight what was learned in class. (Dress rehearsal is May 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vistas.)
