FAIRYTALE BALLET
In this fun class, a magical make-believe component and theme will engage students by tapping into their creativity and stimulating their imagination.  Children will explore dance through the use of props such as wands, tutus, tiaras, crowns and capes.  Enchanting stories and fairy tales are used to inspire and encourage a love for dance.  Students are guided age-appropriately through consistent structure and outlines to learn elementary ballet vocabulary and French ballet terms.  Lessons will strengthen coordination, develop poise, balance and flexibility and encourage a relationship to music.  Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers.

MOMMY AND ME BALLET
Mommies and their baby ballerinas will whirl, twirl and explore ballet with tutus, tiaras, sparkling wands, imagery, musical instruments and props.  This class teaches basic toddler ballet by engaging and inspiring little dancers’ imaginations and creativity with magical themed fairy tales, stories and props.  The class focus is on movement, coordination, balance, rhythm and stretching.  Appropriate attire is a leotard, tights and ballet slippers.

SOCIALIZATION WITH OBEDIENCE FOR THE YOUNG DOG
Positive interactions with people and other animals are critical to your dog’s development.  In this course you will practice activation of your puppy’s senses and instinctual skills; help them build confidence through interactions with other dogs and people and develop structure through games and challenges.  Basic obedience including walking nicely on a leash, sit, stay and come will be incorporated in the class.  You will also learn how to observe and assess your dog’s behaviors and direct and re-direct with positive communication and tools.  All levels are welcome as well as junior handlers with adult supervision.

DOG OBEDIENCE AND MANNERS WITH AGILITY
Communicate with your dog in a positive way and get results.  This is the must-do foundational course for all levels and ages of dogs.  Master the basic commands such as sit, stay, down and come while developing your handling skills through a variety of leash techniques, hand signals and body movement.  You will also learn how to work with your dog to eliminate unwanted behaviors such as barking and jumping and enhance your leadership as you challenge your dog with agility obstacles and drive control exercises.  All levels welcome as well as junior handlers with adult supervision.

This class allows artists of all abilities to pick a subject of their choice (florals, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, etc.) and create a piece of artwork with personal attention from the instructor who has more than 25 years teaching experience.  Students will be taught the basics of composition, color selection and mixing, rendering techniques as well as proportion and perspective.  This class is limited in size to ensure that each student receives the instruction and attention they need to create their masterpiece! PILATES GROUP REFORMER CLASSES—“RE-FORM” YOUR BODY
Beginning Pilates: Learn about Pilates in this beginning level class.  You will be taught to operate your Balanced Body IQ Reformer safely, apply six basic principles of Pilates, understand the Pilates language and perform a group of beginning exercises that are the building blocks of an effective Pilates workout.  This class should be repeated until you feel comfortable moving on to the intermediate level.  
Intermediate Pilates: This class expands your repertoire into a full body Pilates workout. Increase your vitality and strength and improve your flexibility, coordination, and balance.  Make this enjoyable workout an essential part of your weekly fitness maintenance.  The level of difficulty will be determined by the experience of the participants in each class.  (Prerequisite:  Introduction to Pilates)

TAI CHI - SOFT MOUNTAIN BREEZE
Learn the short form style of an ancient Chinese exercise consisting of slow relaxed movements that provide physical exercise for the body, concentration for the mind, and meditation for the spirit.  Tai Chi improves overall fitness, balance, coordination and agility.  It has also been shown to lower blood pressure and heart rates, promote relaxation and release stress and tension.  Those who practice Tai Chi on a regular basis tend to have good posture, flexibility, improved range of motion and mental alertness, and sleep more soundly at night.  Students will also learn Chi Kung - breathing for vital energy.

This summer your child can join us for a special class that teaches yoga in a fun way. Stretch and increase balance and awareness with a certified yoga instructor who has a bachelor’s degree in exercise kinesiology from Purdue University. DRAWING AND PAINTING FOR KIDS
This class allows artists of all abilities to pick a subject of their choice (florals, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, etc.) and create a piece of artwork with personal attention from the instructor who has more than 25 years teaching experience.  Students will be taught the basics of composition, color selection and mixing, rendering techniques as well as proportion and perspective.  This class is limited in size to ensure that each student receives the instruction and attention they need to create their masterpiece! Students must provide their own paints, brushes and canvas.  A complete list of supplies will be given to you upon registration.

MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM Level I – II
Our Black Lions Martial Arts Level I – II classes are a great way for students eight to adult to learn the foundations of self-defense, be introduced to multi-cultural martial arts systems and advance those skills important for continued growth and development. Focus, honor, virtue, teamwork, control, memory, balance, discipline, fitness, and coordination, along with other disciplines of listening, respect and courtesy, are incorporated into a comprehensive training system that is specifically designed to generate maximum results. The exercise and physical fundamentals incorporated into the program are challenging and a great way for students to gain flexibility, balance, strength, self-confidence and self-esteem.  We also understand the importance of fun and variety to maintain high interest and participation. Students may be required to make physical contact with other students during training exercises. Parents who are interested in getting a great workout and learning self-defense alongside their youth or adolescent are welcome to take the class for an additional fee of $20. CHILDREN’S BEGINNER KUNG FU MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM
Our Little Lions class is a great way for children five to seven years of age to learn the ABCs of self-defense, gain anti-bullying skills and be introduced to the multi-cultural martial arts systems.  Studies have shown that during pre-school and early elementary school years, children are building eight fundamental skills that are essential to their growth and development. These skills include focus, honor, teamwork, control, memory, balance, discipline, fitness and coordination. The Little Lions program targets these skills, along with other disciplines of listening, respect and courtesy through a comprehensive training system that is specifically designed to generate maximum results. The exercise and physical fundamentals incorporated into the program are challenging and a great way for students to gain flexibility, balance, strength, self-confidence and self-esteem.  We also understand the importance of fun and variety to maintain high interest and participation. Any child who completes this program may have a developmental edge in their early childhood which can make the transition into adolescence much easier. Parents who are interested in getting a great workout and learning self-defense alongside their children are welcome to take the class for an additional fee of $20. FILIPINO MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM
The Filipino Martial Arts (Escrima, Arnis, or Kali) class emphasizes self-defense and personal safety first.  Movements are broken down into easily learned segments.  The Filipino martial arts are famous for flow drills that are both fun and give a real feel for the movement and speed of combat.  You will be given the ability to perform techniques such as coutners, disarms, sweeps and locks in flow.  These fun classes are intellectually and physically stimulating to the martial artist at any level.  Personal exploration and discovery, coordination, balance self-defense, health and fitness are just a few benefits of this beautiful and functional art.  Students may be required to make physical contact with other students during training exercises.  A materials fee payable to the instructor may be required.

JIU-JITSU BEGINNING MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self-defense system that is one of the most popular and fastest growing activities today. This art form emphasizes ground fighting techniques which involve various chokes and joint locks used to dominate and submit the attacker. Students can expect classes that will include a dynamic warm up, technique training and live sparring.  This program will expose the student to both the self-defense and competitive aspects of the sport. The exercise and physical fundamentals incorporated into the program are challenging and a great way for students to gain flexibility, balance, strength and self-confidence and self-esteem. We also understand the importance of fun and variety to maintain high interest and participation. Students may be required to make physical contact with other students during training exercises.  Must be seven or older to register, unless approved by the instructor.

We’re all natural music makers! We hum while we play and work, sing along with music in the car and tap our fingers and feet to the beat.  In this carnival themed unit, children become more comfortable with instruments, their ability to play them and explore timbre, steady beat and ensemble experiences.  Students will move, play and sing and through sounds, stories, songs and games, learn about what carnivals have to offer.  Step right up and join in the Carnival of Music!
