Mad Science Spring Break Camp

This week of Mad Science brings together two of the most popular camps; Chess Camp and Eureka Inventor’s Camp.  In the mornings, find out why chess is the most popular game in the world.  Pieces are brought to life using creative personalities which helps accelerate the learning process.  In the afternoons, campers overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and their own minds.  Please remember to pack a snack and lunch for your camper.

Jr. Mad Science Spring Break Camp

Take a trip back in time! Become a paleontologist and go on a Dinosaur dig! You’ll investigate the habits, needs and characteristics of dinosaurs and explore the fossilization process in this fun, hands-on camp. It’s a prehistoric adventure! (Children must be potty-trained to participate in this camp.)

Summer Fun Camp

Summer Fun Camp (Ages 6–12 years old)
Looking for a seriously good time this summer? Beat the boredom and join us for Summer Fun & Games Camp! From weekly themed activities and crafts to Wii Tournaments and karaoke, each camp is designed for non-stop fun. And to cool-off, kids will enjoy daily swims in the pool. End-of-the-week celebrations
will be held each Friday with themed activities and a party – Summerlin-style!

Sports and Games Camp

Sports & Games Camp (Ages 6 –12 years old)
Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or simply like a good, old-fashioned game of tag, this camp is for you! Kids will learn fundamentals of traditional sports like soccer and basketball, as well as participate in the “classics” – Red Rover, Parachute Golf, Hula-Hoop Pass and Shark Attack – just to name a few! Each afternoon, cool-off with a swim in the Willows Pool. On Fridays, campers will have some serious fun with a special end-of-the-week themed activity and party. So get movin’ and don’t miss out on the good times!

Beakers, test tubes, lab coats and experiments! Get ready for a full week of science projects that are fun and educational.  Children may attend camps in the morning, afternoon or participate in both, but are required to be picked up between sessions.  All campers must be potty trained.

Bricks 4 Kidz Camps (6 – 11 years old) Vistas Community Center
Bricks 4 Kidz camps offer children a fresh and fun way to spend their days with Lego® games galore, free-play and daily swims in the pool.  Every Friday campers are treated to a pizza party.  Learn, build and play with Lego® bricks!

In this camp, participants will use their creativity and imagination to create a character out of themselves and jump into scenes from their favorite stories.  Each week will feature different books and activities.  Please bring a snack and drink each day.

Other Camps

“Into the Woods” Summer Camp (5 years and older) Vistas Community Center
Casting actors, singers and dancers for “Into the Woods.” Featuring all your favorite characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and his beanstalk and the Witch, “Into the Woods” will have you being careful what you wish for! Come and be a part of the cast ensemble during this two week camp.  No experience is necessary and spots are available for ages five and older.  Campers will rehearse daily for two weeks with live performances on June 8 and 9.  Costumes are provided.

“Hamilton” Camp with MOVE Performing Arts (8 and older) Trails Community Center
Calling all Hamilton fans! MOVE Performing Arts is offering a new camp this summer celebrating the Broadway show “Hamilton” taught by instructors with professional experience in the arts.  Have fun taking part in five days of in-depth study of the piece, singing the music, trying some movement, and even taking on your own rap battles.  You’ll want to be in “the room where it happens!” Those of you that don’t consider yourselves performer types but love “Hamilton” are welcome to join in the fun.

Mandarin Chinese for Kids Workshop (5 – 12 years old) Vistas Community Center
While enjoying Chinese folk stories, games, calligraphy, folk dances and folk songs, your child will experience the breadth of Chinese culture.  Moreover, your child will work on learning how to speak Mandarin in a traditional manner.  Please remember to pack a lunch, beverage and snack for your little ones.
